Color block

baby blanket Pattern

Digital Download

This standard gauge baby blanket features a 7-color plated pattern, that starts with 1x1 rib, and changes color and needle layout every 30 rows.

You can play around with the colors, and come up with a color combination that you love – just two colors or even just a single color without the plating feeder.

The pattern was designed to put the ribber techniques together, including rib starts, plating, and transferring needles between two beds.

Chapter 1 – Yarn & Tension Swatch

One of the most important preparation steps for every project is finding the right tension with your yarn. Play around with the colors, and come up with a color combination that you love, then take time to swatch in your chosen yarn using the plating feeder to find the desired tension/stitch length. A design template is provided for you to sketch your ideas.

Chapter 2 – Practice the Techniques

If you are new to knitting with the ribber, we highly recommend practicing the ribber techniques used in the project. We will show you how to avoid a wavy cast-on edge using the perfect rib start technique, and how to use the plating feeder with the ribber to knit the blanket.

Chapter 3 – Knit the Blanket

Follow the written instructions, or adapt to your own design using the tension and colors finalized in Chapter 1.
