Digital Download The Big Scarf pattern is designed for you to easily adapt to your machine and chosen yarn. You can make it solid or striped. The measurements are somewhat forgiving - an inch longer or shorter won’t make a difference.
Although this is a beginner project, basic understanding and practice of machine knitting on the main bed is required.

A fully functioning machine (main bed only) in any gauge.

The sample is roughly measured at 64” in length, and 24” in width.
The measurements somewhat forgiving - an inch longer or shorter won’t make a difference. Just make your tension swatch and calculate the needles and rows for your desired size.

The sample was knitted on a standard gauge machine, with 1 end of 2/14 Lamaine Todd + Duncan (12oz / 320g).
How to Knit the Big Scarf
On-Demand ClassIn case you need help with the techniques required to complete the project, we have a class made just for that.
The class has the project broken down into two chapters, with assignments, and relevant videos that demonstrate the required techniques to finish that chapter.
You can take the class at your own pace, or make it a weekly practice. The class will be accessible in your account for life-time, so you can come back to where you left off when you are ready to knit.
You will also have access to our forum to post questions, and see fellow knitters adaptation to the pattern.

Chapter 1 – Tension Swatches & Measurements
We will be show you the steps in making a good tension swatch with your chosen yarn, and how to measure it to figure out the number of needles and rows to match the gauge of the pattern.
If you plan on striping, or feed striping, play around with colors and stripe depths until you are happy with the result.
Chapter 2 – Knit the Scarf
Follow instructions in the pattern the knit the scarf. We will show you various cast-on and bind-off techniques so you can pick which ones work best for you on a wider piece.
