2025 in Review
Happy Holidays everyone and thank you for supporting this small business (just the two of us!) this past year.
For TKSO it has been the year of the KAL. We completed our final Foundation Class as a KALs - Ribber Basics, and Advanced Ribber Techniques, and also introduced three new patterns - The Balaclava, The Simple-T Sweater and The Thumb Mitts. It has been very rewarding to see forum posts with everyone’s progress and wonderful adaptations of the pattern.
Something that has been in the pipeline for a while and that will (hopefully) come to fruition in 2026, is the release of our KALs as on-demand classes. This means you will be able to take the KAL whenever you want, whether you are a member or not. If you are an experienced knitter and don’t need the accompanying videos, you will be able to just buy the pattern. We will continue to offer scheduled KALs throughout the year with new subjects/patterns.
Everything seems to take longer than we plan, but given other commitments - 4-year old twins and family commitments on the other side of the planet (Angie), and side-hustle jobs in New York, summer travel and knitting for winter craft shows (Helen) it is hardly surprising.
A recent post on our community forum was from Liza. Using YouTube and then TKSO, she quickly learnt how to use her machine and launched her own line of machine knit items. This feedback and the posts from our students gives us a real sense of community and inspires us to keep building and improving our small business.
We are looking forward to connection with you more (and more of you!) through the wonderful craft of machine knitting in 2026.
